History

The Lorenz Racing Team started in 1998 when Jeff entered the Super Stock Division at the Lake Geneva Raceway.  With the help of some friends, he put together a Super Stock car that his father had donated.      The 1998 season, being the first season for Lorenz Racing, proved to be a learning year with Lorenz Racing finishing in 11th place.  With the help of G.T. Racing, a fellow competitor in the Super Late Model division, Lorenz Racing finished in 8th place in 1999.  The stage was set for the 2000 season, and it was one to remember.  Lorenz Racing qualified in the top 5 each week and competed in every Fast Dash and Feature Event.  They found themselves in the top 5 in points throughout the season.  The track championship came down to the final night of racing.  When it was all said and done, Lorenz Racing was named Lake Geneva Raceway Track Champions!  The dedication of Jeff, Mark, and the crew made it possible for Lorenz Racing to win the championship in only their third season at the track.  With the Street Stock division at Lake Geneva ranked No. 1 in the Midwest, it was quite an accomplishment.  In total, Lorenz Racing won: 6 Features, 7 Fast Dash events and were Fast Time Qualifiers 8 times.  Besides being the 2000 Track Champions, the team was also presented the prestigious Jim Kjellender Sportsmanship Award.
